COELISPEX | Space Life and Flight Simulator
"The void demands balance. Balance the grind of deep-space labor with the fragile needs of a human pilot."
COELISPEX is a lo-fi cyberpunk survival-management and retro-arcade flight simulator. Operating through the retro-futuristic NAVAJAGAT OS terminal, players step into the boots of a deep-space Operative aboard a modular star vessel. The experience fuses contemplative biological and dialectical life management (Aluxhim) with fast-paced 3D retro hyperspace flight (Novokult).

Overview & Lore
In the deep reaches of the cosmos, survival is not merely a mechanical problem—it is a dialectical struggle. As an Operative assigned to a solitary vessel under the Navajagat operating environment, your human pilot possesses both physiological vulnerabilities and esoteric aspirations.
Neglecting physical needs (Hunger, Hygiene, Sleep) leads to cognitive collapse and physical degradation, while ignoring higher dialectical needs (Social, Labor, Meditation) disrupts esoteric neural resonance. Meanwhile, your ship's firmware demands raw material extraction from hazardous asteroid fields to fund sector jumps and vessel upgrades.
Core Gameplay Systems
1. Avatar Synthesis (Character Creation)
Before launching the shift, players configure their Operative's profile:
- Designation & Identity: Assign pilot callsign and choose between gender titles (Frater, Soror, or Consor).
- Astrological Triad: Calibrate the pilot's Sun, Moon, and Rising celestial alignments across all 12 Zodiac archetypes.
- Dynamic 2D SVG Anime Avatar: Procedural portrait generation with customizable body builds (Athletic, Slim, Heavy), face shapes (Pointed, Square, Round), skin tones, hair styles (Straight, Spiky, Curly, Braided, Bald), dye pigments, and cyberpunk cosmetic augmentations (Neon Blush, Cyan Eyeshadow, Gold Warpaint Details).
2. Aluxhim: Life & Vessel Management
The interior of the ship is rendered in real-time 3D through an interactive Three.js environment featuring a roaming astronaut avatar and four dedicated compartments:
| Compartment | Function & Directives | Restored Needs / Produced Resources |
|---|---|---|
| BRIDGE | Vessel command hub: initiate Neural Flight, trigger Sector Jumps, and execute firmware upgrades. | Unlocks flight & sector exploration |
| QUARTER | Living quarters equipped with a Food Synthesizer, Decontamination Shower, and Cryogenic Stasis Pod. | Hunger (+40), Hygiene (+50), Sleep (+80) |
| LABOR | Deep-space data mining terminal. High cognitive load that exhausts biology while generating economic output. | Labor (+20), Mines Scotons, Sophia Fragments, and Labor Credits; costs Hunger & Sleep |
| ESOTERIC | Sanity and philosophical alignment chamber. Features an interplanetary Comms Booth and the Sacred Meditation Pond. | Social (+40 via Comms Booth), Meditation (+50 via Monas Hieroglyphica alignment) |
The Monas Hieroglyphica Alignment (Meditation Minigame)
Dialectical meditation requires channeling esoteric energy. Entering the Meditation Pond launches an SVG-rendered alchemical puzzle based on John Dee's Monas Hieroglyphica. Players must press and hold to steadily align neural pathways to 100% focus. Breaking focus prematurely resets alignment progress.
3. Novokult: Neural Flight Minigame
Engaging the flight interface from the Bridge launches an arcade-style 3D flight scenario through sector debris and cosmic radiation:
- Collectibles:
- Scotons (Green): Basic quantum fuel required for vessel hull upgrades.
- Sophia Fragments (Blue): Rare philosophical processing units needed for higher vessel firmware tiers.
- Labor Credits (Yellow): Universal exchange units used for Sector Jumps and Comms Booth transmissions.
- Hazards & Enemies:
- Asteroids (Brown/Rock): Dense space debris causing -15% hull damage.
- Raiders (Red): Hostile interceptors inflicting -25% hull damage.
- Sector Depth & Hull Integrity:
- Clearing sectors increases sector depth levels, raising entity speed and density.
- Reaching 0% Hull triggers emergency recall back to the Bridge.
4. Ship Progression & Planetary Transit
The vessel evolves through three distinct tiers, updating interior capabilities and the real-time 3D rotating hologram preview on the HUD:
- Tier I: Proletarian Space-Pod — Initial survival chassis.
- Tier II: People's Fighter Vessel — Upgraded thrusters and hull reinforcement (Cost: 100 Scotons, 5 Sophia Fragments).
- Tier III: Sovereign Command Starship — Apex exploration vessel (Cost: 250 Scotons, 15 Sophia Fragments).
Operatives can spend 50 Labor Credits at the Bridge to initiate a hyper-jump, transitioning between orbits of Sol planetary bodies and dwarf planets: Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Ceres, Pluto, Eris, Haumea, Makemake, Gonggong, and Quaoar.
5. Neural Archives (Save & Load System)
- Automatic Browser Cache: Real-time persistence via
localStoragefor seamless resumption across sessions. - JSON Archive Export / Import: Full offline data backup. Operatives can export their entire game state (pilot attributes, needs, resources, ship tier, flight XP) as a standalone
.jsonfile and restore it on any machine or browser.
Aesthetic & Audio Experience
- CRT Terminal Optics: Custom scanline shaders, barrel vignette, chromatic aberration, and screen degaussing animations on major events and sector shifts.
- Scanline Level Control: Adjustable CRT intensity slider (0% to 100%) available in System Config.
- Dynamic Adaptive Soundtrack: Responsive multi-mode audio engine that smoothly switches between curated music states:
MENU: Cinematic cyberpunk ambience.BASE: Shoegaze, surf rock, and psychedelic trip-hop for cabin management.FLIGHT: High-tempo gabber, hard techno, and industrial EBM for hyperspace flight.MEDITATION: Ambient meditation soundscapes.

Getting Started
Prerequisites
Running Locally with Electron
Clone the repository and install devDependencies:
# Clone the repository
git clone https://github.com/your-username/coelispex.git
cd coelispex
# Install dependencies (Electron & electron-builder)
npm install
# Launch the desktop simulator
npm start
Packaging & Distribution
To package standalone executables for your operating system:
# Package for the current operating system
npm run dist
# Build Linux packages (AppImage & Snap)
npm run dist:linux
# Build Windows packages (NSIS installer & Portable executable)
npm run dist:win
Compiled installers and executables are output to the dist/ folder.
Running as a Static Web App
Because all libraries in js/ and 3D models in index.html are bundled offline, the game can also be served using any standard static HTTP server:
# Using Python
python3 -m http.server 8080
# Using Node.js npx serve
npx serve .
Then open http://localhost:8080 in any WebGL-capable browser.
